| Which Mackinaw or Mackinac " Official" Tourist
Information Sites are
FAKE which are
GENUINE? |
If you are looking for a simple Chamber
of Commerce or Tourist Bureau link, don't be fooled by the fake tourist
sites set up to promote specific businesses.
For some reason, perfectly well run, and otherwise respectable
businesses have started creating thinly veiled "tourist information"
sites.
As long as you know that the purpose of these sites is to #1 promote
their business, there is nothing innately wrong with the information on these
sites. However, in general, if you want unbiased information you might
like to see the actual local tourist sites. There isn't anything
misleading on the sites other than their appearance as an informational
tourist site.

hotels and area tourist information as well as links to area attraction

The
Mackinaw Tourist Bureau features a woefully incomplete listing of area
cabin and cottage rental and campground accommodations, that actually
omits one of the largest, most popular, friendly and spectacularly
located family owned
campground/RV park/Summer Lake Cabin and Cottage Rental/Golfing Resort
which is arguably as much of an attraction to the Mackinaw area as the
Historic Parks or Mackinac Bridge. Primarily mission is to
encourage booking of hotel rooms in Mackinaw City and secondarily to
promote the Mackinac Area. |

tour function gives you a preview of each park. Has a search
function to quickly help you find what you are looking for. Great
"kids"section to help children enjoy and understand the history and
surroundings. |
