Paradise Michigan is the closest community to Tahquamenon Falls. On Lake
Superior’s Whitefish Bay, it’s just a little over an hours drive north of
the Mackinac Bridge, and a little over an hours drive west of the Soo Locks
along the Shoreline Drive.
From the Mackinac Bridge, take I-75 north to M-123 into Paradise.

abundance of natural wonders it provides a playground for outdoor
enthusiasts of all varieties. From diving the underwater preserve to

Tahquamenon Falls
Paradise, MI is the Home of Michigan’s largest State Park, Tahquamenon
Falls. A four season magnificent nautral attraction, Tahquamenon offers
fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking, snowshoeing and some of the most
fantastic photographic experiences to be found. View the Upper and Lower
Tahquamenon Falls from observation platforms and handicap accessible
walkways.
Whitefish Point Bird Observatory
One of the leading observatories in the country, offering a unique glimpse
at the spectacular migration of Hawks, Loon, Eagles, Peregrine Falcon,
Boreal, Saw-what, Great Gray Owls, and songbirds.
Whitefish Point Lighthouse and
Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum
Experience the gripping tales of ships and men who braved Superior’s cold
deep waters and violent raging storms. The site of Superior’s first
lighthouse still stands guard over the ships that round its point.
Fishing
The Paradise area has many bankfishing localities. You can expect to find
Perch, Pike, Muskie, Walleye, Whitefish, Steel-head, Brown Trout, Salmon and
other varieties of Michigan fish.
Snowmobiling
Approximately 200 miles of locally groomed snowmobile trails connecting to
thousands of miles of Cross U.P. Groomed Trails.
Cross Country Skiing & Hiking Trail
Ski groomed cross country trails on the Paradise Pathway. Tahquamenon Falls
and at NcNerney Lake or for that wilderness experience traverse over
thousands of miles of old logging roads.
Whitefish Point Underwater Preserve
This underwater preserve allows divers an opportunity to explore some of the
Great Lakes’ most intriguing shipwrecks. This notorious stretch of Lake
Superior provides some of the best diving opportunities in North America.
