Delivering to the Tahquamenon River and Muskallonge Lake State Park Campgrounds!

Hello Fellow Paddlers!

Come visit us at The Woods for all of your canoe and kayak rental needs. If you would like to paddle one of the many lakes and rivers in our area, we offer daily and weekly rentals at affordable prices. Our Woodsman canoes are lightweight, and can easily be transported on the roof of most vehicles, or for your convenience we'll deliver one right to your campsite. We also offer "family friendly" canoe and kayak trips on the beautiful Tahquamenon River. With trips of approximately 1 1/2, 3, and 4 1/2 hours in a canoe, you decide how long your trip will be. Our canoe and kayak trips are easy paddling for all ages, and are great for beginners, although we do recommend the short 1 1/2 hour trip for children. Remember that kayaks take about two-thirds the amount of time as a canoe, so plan your trip accordingly. Although not required, to avoid any disappointment we do recommend that you call us ahead of time. If you would like more information, please call us at (906) 203-7624, or go to www.thewoodscanoerental.net.

Sincerely,
Ken Orlang

Canoe & Kayak Trips on the beautiful Tahquamenon River

Note: All trips include delivery, paddles, and life jackets

Short Trip: This short trip is great for inexperienced paddlers or families with young children. It is our easiest and shortest trip. You will start at the Dollarville Dam and end at the Logging Museum. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to explore this area of the river in a canoe, but take as long as you like.
- 1st Canoe or Kayak $35, or 2 Kayaks $45
- Each additional Canoe $25 / Kayak $22.50

Trip A: The current will gently help you along as you paddle down this stretch of river. Your trip should take about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours in a canoe, but may take all day (that's up to you). You start at the M-123 bridge north of Newberry, and end up at McPhee's Landing. A fun family trip!
- 1st Canoe or Kayak $40, or 2 Kayaks $50
- Each additional Canoe $30 / Kayak $25

Trip B: Combine Trip A and the Short Trip for a full day of paddling adventure. Begin your trip at the Dollarville Dam, and end at McPhee's Landing. Your trip should take you about 4 to 5 hours in a canoe, so be prepared, and don't forget your camera!
- 1st Canoe or Kayak $45, or 2 Kayaks $55
- Each additional Canoe $35 / Kayak $27.50

Upper Falls Area Trip: A great trip for leisurely paddling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and photography. A 'must see' for nature lovers. This is a beautiful wilderness area located in the heart of "Tahquamenon Country." Note that the river in this area is very wide open and deep. There is a steep incline at exit which could make it difficult for some people, and also there are no toilets on this trip. Your trip begins at a remote launch site, and will end approximately a half mile before you reach the Upper Falls. Plan on at least 3 hours of paddling time in a canoe.
- 1st Canoe or Kayak $40, or 2 Kayaks $50
- Each additional Canoe $30 / Kayak $25
