We have raised bears here since 1984 and opened to the public in 1997. Michigan law prohibits breeding or buying of black bears. We rescue cub bears from all over the U.S.A. Once here, each bear will live its life here. The average bear lifetime is 25 to 30 years. Presently we have four natural habitats with trees, fresh running water to swim in and drink pools. This is an entirely family-run operation helping to keep the cost of admittance and souvenirs affordable for family entertainment.
It is our sincere hope that your visit here is educational, fun and exciting.

Be sure to tell a friend about this special opportunity to see the secretive, quiet animal very few catch a glimpse of - the Upper Peninsula Black Bear.
We look forward to seeing you in the future.

Thank you,
The Oswald Family
